It was dark, the moon light shone down to the earth, it's light splashing in different parts of the city. It was bright against the inky black sky, and as most people were in their home, a young woman was running. It seemed like she was always running.
Dressed in jeans, a ripped jacket and a bag on her back, the girl didn't stop, didn't slow down, until she reached an alleyway far from her home. In her bag was a few sets of clothing, a few blades, a notepad, a few pens and some food that would last a couple of days. Yes she was running from home again, and she wasn't being followed. Jess didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Stopping, Jess took off one of the gloves she wore. Leaning against the wall, Jess looked at her wrist in the moon light glow. The cuts where healing, and she was thankful for that. They were never too deep which meant no stitches, which meant no finding out. And she should stop before it got worse, before one was the final cut and she died from it. With a painful sigh, Jess went to put the glove back on, but stopped. The winds blew, making her shiver and she gazed around.

Scott walked out of P3 after a long night of partying. Whoa that was fun. He had had a little bit to drink. How he got the bartender to give him a drink was beyond him. He wasn't drunk but he'd had one or two glasses of beer. Scott wore light blue jeans with a dark blue, long sleeve, button-up, collared shirt. It was light clothing when you thought of the temperaature that he was walking in. But he didn't mind. He could freaking control ice, some forty degree eather wasn't going to make him cold. He ondered where he should go now. He was done with the club for tonight, but he didn;t want to go in quite yet. He went don an alley and orbed out when no one was looking. A few seconds later blue and white lights shimmered down and he was in another alley, more downtown than the one by P3. He spotted a girl that was younger than him and panicked a little, thinking she had seen him orb.

When he got closer he recognized her as his cousin Jessica. He walked over to her and leaned up against the side of the alley before sliding down the wall and into a sitting position. He looked down to where she was looking down and frowned. She had been cutting herself. "Jess, you've gotta stop doing that, you're going to seriously hurt yourself," he said, concerned for his cousin. He normally didn't like emo people since they were all dark and cut themselves because supposedly no on understood them. Well newsflash, everyone has issues!. He was charmed, he would have to kill his cousins, demons were coming after him every second. Everyone in the underworkd focused on killing you. And hey, his wrists had no cuts on them, and never had, and never will.... well unless a demon did it, but that's beside the point. But either way, he cared about Jessics since she was his family after all, and he didn't want anything bad to happen to her. [/blockquote]

Hearing a voice, Jess nearly jumped out of her skin, looking around before her eyes fell upon her cousin Scott. How long had it been since she saw him? It was too long ago, Jess had either been hiding or running, never taking time to see any of her family anymore. Which was kind of a shame but she had reasons behind it. Reasons which she would love to say, but as she looked at Scott, she didn't know how to say it. She didn't want to ruin his night, so she really didn't want to bring up that subject.
However, Scott had seen her wrists, there was no hiding. And when he spoke, she cringed. Closing her eyes, she let no emotion escape her, just staying calm and relaxed. If she spoke about why she was doing it, it would explain a lot of things. But she couldn't bring herself to do it. Instead, she lowered her head. "I know. It's just-" She stopped talking, sighing softly to herself. "Nevermind." She added leaning back into the wall more as she opened her eyes. Gazing up at the moon, Jess wished she could make all her pain disappear. Looking back to Scott, she wondered what he had been up to, and decided to steer clear of dangerous topics. "What have you been up to?" She asked, hoping he would let the whole cutting topic go.

Scott was still worried about Jessica cutting her wrists. Why? This was serious. He wasn't overreacting, well at least he hoped he wasn't overreacting. He tilted his head up towards the stars. What few stars that were visible against the city lights. He figured that Jessica had run away again. Scott himself had run away a few times, well, rather, he had Orbed away to some remote location. Sometimes it had been China, The Bahamas, or Peru, just somewhere random. He had only done this a few times when he was angry, but usually had come back after about a day. He heard a clatter of trash cans and screeching and meowing from around the corner. Cat fight. Scott never really sat down in alleys, they weren't exactly his favorite spot, but Jessica was here and he wasn't going to just leave.
"I've just been doing schoolwork, vanquishing demons. The usual. what about you?" he asked. Besides cutting yourself, he added in his mind. "I'm serious. You need to stop.. have you talked to anybody about why you're cutting yourself?" Oh my god. His own stomach twisted at his own words. That was all time cheesey and cliche for him. He never talked like that. He felt like damn shrink. Oh wow. But he was really worried about her and wanted to know what was going on. He absentmindedly ran his left hand around his cutless, right wrist. It felt good not to have cuts in your wrists. [/blockquote]

Jess listened to Scott speak, nodding her head and making sure he knew that she was listening. But when he said his last words, again she cringed. It sounded so bad, so disgusting. Yes is was a horrible habit, but it was something she did, something she got used to that it normally wouldn't bother her much. Boy was she wrong. Talking to Scott just made her feel worse, not better. But he didn't know the truth reason behind it all, and as she bit her lip, she turned to face him. Her eyes were watery, and she blinked a few times, trying to clear them. Not knowing what to do, or what to say, but she knew he probably would not let this go unless she told the truth.
"No I haven't." She replied, her breathing ragged. Closing her eyes again, it was it she could see it happening all at once. The abuse, and then finally the rape. It was all too much, and Jess was actually surprised she was still living. Reopening her eyes, she kept looking at her cousin. "You wouldn't believe me even if I explained myself." He had told her that no one would believe her. That everyone would think she was making things up. "I'm in trouble Scott. I'm screwed up and I don't know what to do." Tears began to fall like rain, streaking down her cheeks and dripping to the dark ground below as she wrapped her arms around her body.

Scott could tell that he was just making matters worse and he scolded himself in his mind, wishing he hadn't been so straightforward. When he saw her eyes watering he felt a pang of guilt in his chest before he slipped an arm around her shoulders. An innocent, comforting arm. Not one that would make Jessica feel like she was being raped again. Scott didn't know about the rapes and abuse but he could tell that something was destroying her inside and he was going to find out what it was and stop it. He hated seeing his cousin like this. He felt horrible. Good thing he wasn't an empathor else he would probably black out just sitting there with her.
"I'd believe you. Hell. I'd believe anything at this point," he said, looking across the alley, not making eeye contact with Jessica yet. It destroyed him to see her like this. Why did he have to be so fucking sympathetic. Scott held her in closer to him comfortingly when she said she was screwed up. He closed his eyes and sighed a little bit. "You've got to tell me what's happened to make you like this. I'll help. Just please, tell me. I want you to be happy," again with the friggin shrink talk. It wasn't his fault. It just came out. When he slipped his arm around her, she wanted to pull back. The simple fear of being hurt again was pushing forth, but she managed to stay still and then finally, she wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. She could trust him right? He was family, and he hadn't left her. As she cried into his shoulder, she listened to his words. If he didn't believe her, she could easily run right? She could escape, and never come back. Thoughts began to swarm through her mind and it made her head hurt. So, she brought her attention back, knowing she had to say something, anything, otherwise it could just get worse.
Opening her mouth, she began to speak. "Just don't leave me." She whispered. Terror of him leaving was more greater than her fear of telling him what happened. If she lost him, she didn't know what she would do. Jess looked up to him, and she didn't want to disappoint him. "When I was a kid, I was sexually abused." She paused, choking up. It was painful to speak it, and she didn't want to look at his face when she finished speaking. "And he raped me when I was older. I woke up bruised and bleeding, and he was dead." She looked away. There was no way she could speak about Solaris yet. Everything was much too painful and she was glad it was Scott she was talking to.

Scott waited patiently for Jessica to tell him... or not tell him what had happened to her. What had happened to her to put her in a state like this. He felt her slip her arm around her and almost felt her pain. But what had happened to cause so much pain. He pushed her hair behind her ear as she cried into his shoulder and felt like a mother with a sick child. Sympathy ran through his entire body as she cried. He hated to see people cry, unless it was a demon, warlock, or an evil witch, then he liked when they cried. But good people like Jessica, crying. It sucked. He shhed her a little bit, trying to calm her down some. again, he was glad he wasn't an empath. He wondered how Great Aunt Phoebe had handled it, besides having sex with her boss in the workplace.
"I'm not going to leave you. I promise," he said. Why would he leave her? Scott waited for her to tell him what was going on, or what had gone on. He was a little bit afraid of the answer that he would recieve back. Did she have only thirty days to live? Was it that sort of thing? He took a deep breath right before she started to speak. His eyes grew wide at what she said. I'll kill the bastard!" he thought harshly in his mind. He knew this sort of thing happened all the time. But for Jessica to keep it in all these years. His eyes got even wider when she continued. That was confusing. Who had killed him? Scott hold her in tighter. 'It's okay. I'll show you. Not every guy is bad," he said. He would ask her who killed him later. The thoght still haunted himm that she had done it herself. But even if she had. He deserved it and it would be self defense.. [/blockquote]

Solaris had killed him, told him that no one would ever hurt Jess again. Solaris watched his life ebb away, his eyes going lifeless before she collapsed herself. Jess didn't remember the event considering it was Solaris who killed, not her. But she did have memories of them speaking, and other sounds. Jess didn't pay much attention, preferring to keep it locked in the confines of her mind, never going back there is she could help it. Did she want to know? Yes, and now. But she already had the feeling that Solaris had done it, after finding out who she was. Would she hurt Scott? He has never hurt me so would she hurt him? Solaris was cold and deadly, but Scott was still family. Even if she was an alter ego, she was still part of the same person.
And when he said he wasn't going to leave her, and that he promised, she held onto him tighter as if letting go would mean death. She had held it in for so many years, never telling a single soul. And for him to believe it, it made her feel better, which Jess was apprehensive about it doing. Thinking it would make her feel worse, she was pleased to say it didn't. Because he believed her. And thats what she needed. To not be called a liar, or a prat, or said that she deserved it. And she believed him when he said he would show her not all guys were bad. Maybe this could help her gain her trust back, after all these years. "Thank you." Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper as her sobs died down, her breathing still ragged. But even that was slowly returning to normal.

Scott slid his arm out from around her and stood up, pulling don his shirt a little bit. He felt horrible and mad. That someone had traumatized someone so much. That someone had traumatized his cousin so much. It pissed him off. But there was nothing he could do about it since apparently the guy was dead. And the guy deserved way more than to die. Way more. Scott turned around to face Jessica. He took her hand and helped her up. "Come on, we can't hang out here all night. We can go back to the manor and get something to eat," he said, standing close to her for comfort. He wanted her to know that he was close and that he wasn't leaving. He could tell that her crying had subsided and that made him happy to see she was calming down.
Allof a sudden a demon rounded th corner and Scott turned his head to look at it. Not now. He wiped his arm across the air furiously, sending the demon flying through the air and hitting the side of the alley. Scott held out his hand and blew on his hand. an ice cloud shot from his mouth and onto his hand, forming an icicle. Scott threw it up in the air and waved his hand, using his telekinesis to make it go flying. it flew straight at the demon's heart, hitting its target. The demon went up in flames and with an echo of wailing he was gone. "'Like I said, let's go," he muttered, still standing close to her. [/blockquote]

Jess didn't really want to go anywhere that had people. Yet things would probably get dangerous the longer they stayed out. As she nodded, she looked over to see the demon, ducking down low and trying to hide. Even though hiding was futile, she could still try. Reaching out, she grabbed her bag, holding it close to her. She didn't want to lose it, and when she looked up, the demon was gone and Scott was close by her. As she stood up, she kept her grip onto her bag while nodding again. "Going sounds like a good plan. Before anymore demons turn up." She didn't want to be demon food and she knew Scott wouldn't let anything happen to her. But still, she was still paranoid. Years of hiding, looking over your shoulder and thinking your abuser was coming back, installed that into her mind.
Taking deep breaths, Jess wondered if they were going to be walking. If so it was going to take a little while to get back to the Manor. "Uh, Scott? Are we walking because it is kinda far." She looked at him, wondering what their plan was. Well his plan since he was older.

After the demon was vanquished Scott smiled and nodded when she said leaving was a good idea. Yea, he didn't want anymore demons showing up. He yawned a little bit, despite the early time. He looked around the alley, straining his eyes to see if there were any demons left in the alley. Sure enough a bald demon came out of the shadows wearing a black jacket. Scott ducked an energy ball and looked around the alley. He spotted a sharp pipe in the corner and put his hand over Jessica's eyes so shewouldn't see this. He waved his hand and the pipe lifted off the ground and shot across the alley. It went through the demon's forehead and came out the other side. Scott cringed a little bit, wincing back. Blood went everywhere until flames engulfed the demon and he was vanquished.
"Naw, we can orb there," he said. He held her hand and white and blue orbs went into the air. They were no longer in the alley, but home at the Halliwell Manor. "Hello?" he called upstairs and Aunt Paige came downstairs. Scott hugged her quickly since he hadn't seen her in awhile. "Where's Uncle Henry?" he asked. "Oh he's sleeping," she said as she headed towards the Living Room, laying down on the couch. Scott andJessica headed into the kitchen. "What do you want for dinner?" Scott asked as he leaned up against the counter. [/blockquote]

Demons. She really disliked demons. And when another one showed up, Jess just wanted to get the hell outta there. When her vision went dark, she knew Scott had covered her eyes. I've seen worse, Jess thought, but she stayed silent. When she was able to see again, she made sure she had everything with her, holding Scott's hand while they orbed to the Manor. Letting go of his hand, she kept her grip on her bag and looked around. She stayed silent, waving shyly towards Paige and following Scott into the kitchen. Jess didn't really spend much time with family, so they were sorta like strangers to her.
The subject of food, Jess began to think. She wasn't a big eater, but if the food had chicken in it, than Jess would most likely polish it off considering chicken was her favorite meat. And possibly her favorite food ever. "Well if you have anything with chicken in it, I'll be fine with that." Jess thought about it a little more. "Ot if you have soup, I can eat that." Considering the days were cold, soup was the perfect meal.

Scott looked around the kitchen for something to make. he was a pretty good cooker and was usually always hungry. He ate a lot. But he worked out a lot also, so he was muscle, not fat. He crossed his arms as he leaned against the counter. He realized that he wasn't hungry, wow what a first, he was just still shocked that jessica had kept something like that from everyone. What puzzled him the most was that she didn't know who had killed her attacker. Maybe she did know, she just wasn't letting on as much as she could be. He turned around as he hard a wavey sound from behind him. "Agh, demon!" he said, shocked. He ducked just as an energy ball sailed over his head. He stood up and dodged to the side as the demon threw another. Scott hitch kicked him in the stomach before backhand punching him in the face. Scott backed up and shot ice out of his hands, freezing the demon in an ice cube. He turned his attention on the ground and a monstorous vine grew out of the floor. Scott motioned with his hand and the vine whipped out fiercely at the ice. As it hit the ice cube the demon was now frozen solid in, pieces of ice shattered everywhere. Scott shielded his eyes as frozen parts of demon flew everywhere. Once they hit the ground they burst up in flames.
"So chicken noodle soup?" he asked, turning around to face Jessica and kicking a little bit of ice across the floor. It would melt fast. He was still a little bit worked up from the demon attack, but hey, what could you do? Scott walked over to the fridge and opened it, searching its contents for chicken noodle soup. Aha! He reached in and pulled out a container of it. Not leftovers. Egh, leftovers were nasty. Scott got out a pot and pored the soup in there before setting it on the stove and turning the burner to boil. It would be ready soon. [/blockquote]
